How to keep your linen lovely, how sizing works, and the honest details on timing, shipping and returns.

Caring for linen

Good linen is low-maintenance and rewards a light touch. A few notes to keep yours at its best for years:

  • Machine wash cold or warm on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Wash with like colors.
  • Skip the fabric softener — linen softens naturally with every wash.
  • Tumble dry low and remove while slightly damp, or line dry. Reshape gently.
  • Linen is meant to look relaxed. If you like it crisp, press with steam while damp.
  • Store folded rather than hung to keep shoulders from stretching.

Sizing & fit

Our pieces are cut relaxed and forgiving. If you're between sizes or prefer a trimmer line, size down. Because everything is made to order, we're always happy to talk measurements before we cut — just add a note at checkout.

Shipping & returns

Timing

Because every piece is sewn for you, most orders ship within 2–3 weeks of your confirmed, paid order. Larger orders may take a little longer — we'll always tell you up front. You'll get a tracking number when your order ships.

Shipping cost

Shipping is calculated based on your address and quoted in your confirmation email, before you pay. We ship domestically and to most international destinations.

Exchanges & returns

We want your piece to fit and feel right. Made-to-order items can be exchanged for a different size within 14 days of delivery, in unworn condition with tags attached. Because pieces are made individually, we handle returns case by case — reach out and we'll make it right. Accessories are final sale.

Made-to-order FAQ

When do I pay?

Never at checkout. You place your order with no payment, we confirm the details and send an invoice, and you pay securely once you're happy. Only then do we start making it.

How will you contact me?

By email (and phone if needed) using the details you give at checkout. Watch for a note from the Field Day studio confirming your order — usually within a day.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Yes — just reply to your confirmation email before you've paid and we'll adjust sizes, colors, or cancel entirely, no problem. Once a piece is in production, changes get trickier, but we'll always try.

What if I'm unsure about my size?

Add a note at checkout or in your reply, and we'll help you pick before anything is cut. That personal check is the best part of made-to-order.

Do you offer a color that isn't listed?

Sometimes. If there's a shade you're dreaming of, mention it in your order notes — depending on our current fabric, we may be able to make it happen.

Is the wrinkling normal?

Completely. Linen creases — it's the honest character of the fabric and softens beautifully with wear. If you like a crisper look, a quick steam sorts it out.
